Yanbian University College of Foreign Languages Successfully Holds 2017 Graduation and Degree Awarding Ceremony
Yanbian UniversityCollege of Foreign Languages successfully held the 2017 session of the graduation and degree awarding ceremony in the seventh floor conference room of the comprehensive building on June 20th, 2017. Those who attended the ceremony were Party Secretary Zhao Liang, Dean Zheng Xianri, Deputy Dean Quan Yongnanand Cui Xuebo, Student Affairs Office Director Jin Chunxian as well as head of all the departments, counselors, graduating students and student representatives. The ceremony was hosted by College Office Director Li Guanghe.
The ceremony started with a solemn national anthem.After playing a commemoration video of the 2017 graduates, Deputy Dean Cui Xuebo reported on the status summarizing awards won by 2017 graduates during school period, graduate admission status, and the Student Research Training Program. Next, Doctoral Advisor, Professor Zhang Zhenai read the list of graduating doctoral and postgraduate students. Both school authorities and their mentors awarded them their diplomas. After that, the Department Chairman read the list of undergraduates and awarded them diplomas. Next, the Party Secretary Zhao Liang announced the names of the undergraduates who are receiving commendation and presented them with certificates and prizes. Professor Li Dongzhe, the Director of Japanese Language and Literature Department announced the names of the graduates who were receiving commendation and the school authorities and their mentors presented them with certificates and prizes. After that, Deputy Dean Quan Yongnan announced the employment decision of the 2017 alumni liaison officer, and presented him a letter of appointment. Finally, graduate representative, Piao Taiyu offered a souvenir to the college.
After the commendation, the graduate representative, 2013 English language and literature PhD student, Guan Shan, 2014 English language and literature master graduate, Du Xiao, and 2013 English major graduate, Piao Taiyu all took the stage expressing nostalgia for university life, gratitude to all of the teachers and their hope and expectations for the future. After their amazing speeches, the chairman of student council of College of Foreign Languages, Li Jian from 2014 English major made a speech on behalf of all students at school. He firstly congratulated the 2013 students graduating with outstanding achievements and hoped that everybody could follow their example. Finally, Foreign Language College Dean, Zheng Xianri expressed his expectations that all graduates could follow their dreams and achieve more as well as giving back to the community, their parents and alma mater.
