The Russian Culture Experience of Easter

The Russian Culture Experience of Easter was held successfully by the Russian Major in the Practice Base of Russian Language in Z-Building. The purpose of this activity can be classified into three aspects. First, it can promote Russian majors’ interest in and level of Russian language as well as their comprehensive quality. Besides, it can help Russian students touch the pure Chinese, making their life in China more relaxed. Thirdly, this activity can make advances in the cultural exchange of both Chinese students and Russian students.

The teachers who explained some main concerned knowledge were Ms. LinLijuan as well as Russian teachers—and Елена and Жанна. The participating students were mainly from 2015 Russian major. They were very active. 

Frist, Ms. Елена introduced the origin of Easter and the customs of this festival which she questioned to present students. Students who made the right answer could choose their reward presents in the box. Every question fired the scene. Students raised their hands constantly while at the same time Russian students helped them enthusiastically with a harmonious atmosphere. Next, teachers explained the meaning and methods of making Easter Eggs, then, students made their own Easter eggs with their full interest. Under the guidance of teachers, they played games with their eggs and the winners received awards. Students also tasted toasts for Easter, coffee and tea. Everyone talked happily with gales of laughter and they also gave others their Wechat numbers and so on. Before the activity finished, each one gave their thoughts of this activity. They expected more activities like this one to promote friendship by helping each other and advancing communication.

  This activity aims to develop the mutual communication of Russian and Chinese students, making Chinese students more interested in Russian and promoting their language level. Students can also overcome their nervousness when they talk to foreigners and promote their cross-cultural communication ability. While at the same time, Russian students can learn that Chinese have a more relaxed life and studying mood through this activity. It gave students a real practice chance for study, communication and cultural exchange.
