Yanbian University English Major Student Won Third Prize in“21st Century·Coca-Cola Cup” National English Speaking Competition
The 22nd China Daily“21st Century·Coca-Cola Cup” National English Speaking Competition was held form March 24 to 26 in Nanjing.
The contest ponsored by China Daily, the national English-language newspaper in China and hosted by 21st Century English Newspaper is the highest level event. The Judges were from International Public Speaking Competition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy and experts from both universities and China Daily.
Honoring the elite young English public speakers across the country, the competition attracted a total of 68 top competitors from each province as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, representing the highest level of English public speaking.
Representing Yanbian University and Jilin province was Li Runmei from the 2014 English major, who ranked first among other outstanding university students and won the championship in last year’s Jilin regional competition held in Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages.
After three days of intense competition, Li Runmei won third prize in the grand final From Jilin regional competition to the National Finals, Li Runmei won over the audiences with her rich cultural background and fluent oral expression, winning an honor for our school.
