On May 22nd, the track and field meet of CFL was held in South Stadium of YBU in order to strengthen the physical exercise, put the spirit of sports into the practice, highlight the students' youthful vigor, and enrich the campus life. Many leaders attended the opening ceremony, including Zhang Shou, the Vice President of YBU, Liu Mingzhu, the Chairman of the Trade Union; and Lin Xuemei, the Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League, as well as the leaders and professors of the Foreign Language College. The opening ceremony was presided by Li Guanghe, director of the college office.
Reviewing the teams was the first part of the opening ceremony. Ten square teams which consisted of three departments’ students with full of spirit, shouting loud slogans, marched through the rostrum to accept the review. Every team was well-prepared and displayed their characteristics. These fancy teams were interwoven into a beautiful landscape on the field. After team-reviewing, the vice president of CFL Cui Xuebo delivered an opening speech. She hoped that the majority of teachers and students could carry forward a tenacious fighting spirit, and keep their own style. She also believed that the joint efforts of teachers and students could make this track and field event a complete success. Subsequently, representatives of the referees and athletes took the oath, and Zheng Xianri, dean of CFL, announced the opening of the meet.
The meet only lasted one day, and the student competition was divided into two major parts of the track and field, including long jump, shot, sprint, long-distance running, relay and so on. Staff fun games were targeted shuttle shuttlecock, string pearls, 60 meters obstacle relay and other ten projects. These games were exciting and attractive. All athletes and teachers with high spirit joined the game, showing the tenacious struggle spirit of sports.
This meet was carefully organized by the staff of the Physical Education College and the staff of CFL. All the audiences cheered for the athletes. In the end, 2012 and 2013 Japanese departments won the first prize of the group. Then, 2014 English and 2015 English departments ranked second and third respectively. What’s more, 2012, 2013 Japanese departments, 2014 English department and 2015 Russian department won sports morals style award. The track and field games ended successfully.
This track and field meet not only enriched CFL campus culture but also promoted the mutual understanding between teachers and students. CFL took this track and field meet as an opportunity to promote physical education, and encourage students to apply tenacious fighting spirit, unity, and cooperation to their future study.
