The 2015 YBU Japanese Reading Contest was organized by CFL at the school’s Canteen No. 2 on April 22, 2015. Eighty-one students from CFL, College of Inter-Korean Studies, Teachers’ College, College of Law, College of Political Science and Public Management, College of Economics and Management, Agricultural College, Engineering College and Medical College participated, and 22 of them advanced to the finals. Sun Xuemei, head of Japanese Department, delivered an opening speech. Those who served as a judge were deputy dean Quan Yongnan, Party branch secretary Jin Yongzhu, Professor Quan Yu, Party branch secretary Li Taixian, section chief Pei Yingyu and Chung A-young and Ito Chi, two foreign teachers. The finals were divided into a Japanese major group and a non-major group. Wang Chenhuan, a 2014 Japanese major, and Li Meiyan, a 2014 student from College of Economics and Management, ranked first respectively. The reading contest offered our students a good opportunity to practice spoken Japanese.
